Award winning American lapidary Thomas Trozzo cut this amazing 26.78ct amethyst. Looking down into the wide table of the stone, a pattern of facets appears to rotate before your eyes. The depth of the stone would have made a traditional setting prohibitively tall. Although fascinated by the stone, I was challenged to create a piece that would showcase the amethyst and still be comfortable to wear. Thus, the logical decision was made: If a stone is too deep for one finger, wear it on two! The 14k yellow gold double ring solution allows all available light to shine though the lower facets of the stone, while keeping the shoulders low enough on the hand for comfortable wear. Because of the design, this ring can not be sized and is only available in size 7.5 and 5 3/4.
